Class FAQ
Who are these classes for?
Whether you're a nervous beginner starting your first saltwater tank or a seasoned reefer looking to master advanced coral biology, we have a level for you. Our structured approach ensures everyone builds a healthy, ethical foundation.
How does online vs in-store work?
Our interactive online classes are perfect for remote learners, while in-store sessions at Royalty Reef offer hands-on practice with live filtration and coral systems. Both formats follow the same science-based curriculum led by Brooke.
What is included in the online classes?
We cover everything from nitrogen cycle mechanics and water chemistry to ethical coral sourcing and long-term ecosystem maintenance. You'll receive digital guides pertaining to topics such as coral acclimation and feeding.
Are these different from 1:1 consultations?
Yes. While consultations focus on solving specific problems for your individual tank, our classes are structured educational programs designed to teach you the foundational science and skills of reef keeping.
Do I need special equipment to start?
Not at all. In fact, we recommend taking our beginner class before buying equipment so we can help you choose the right tools for your specific goals, saving you from common and costly mistakes.
